    The Role

    Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

    This dynamic position involves the application of project management, engineering planning and contract concepts supporting the Aircraft Carrier Engineering Services (ACES) contract and directly reporting to the ACES Program Manager. The candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of FORD Class In-Service projects and serves as liaison between program management and planning, project team, engineering, and line management. The candidate will develop and utilize mechanisms for monitoring project/Contract progress, expenditures, LRM and budget forecasting, while performing to contract requirements.

    Must Have

    Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

    One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

    • NNS Apprentice School graduate

    • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

    • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience

    • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience

    • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience

    • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

    Nice to Have

    The preferred candidate will have demonstrated ability to work effectively with various organizations within the Carrier program/s, including in-service activities. The preferred candidate will be well organized, self-motivated, and energetic with proven experience to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Preferred demonstrated abilities to include;

    • Technical writing skills, solid communicator with relationship skills - effective interface with all levels of NNS and Navy/Government personnel

    • Strategic and tactical skills with demonstrated ability to engage in process development initiatives, business strengthening and growth opportunities

    • MS Office toolset experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project

    • Understanding of In-Service Carrier processes, logistics processes, contract language and requirements

    • Understanding of contracts and contract management/programmatics, including EVM, LRM, finance, cost management and control
