Controller

Description

We are inviting applications for the role of Controller based in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The successful applicant will join our team in the packaging manufacturing industry, where they will oversee the preparation of financial statements, manage accounting processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong aptitude for accounting, management processes, and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile and present monthly financial statements to leadership team.

• Generate inventory reports at month-end for works in progress, completed goods, and miscellaneous items, and make corresponding general ledger adjustments.

• Handle month-end tasks including accruals, prepaids, general ledger adjustments, and account reconciliations.

• Oversee the annual review of financial statements by outside reviewers, handling preparation and response to inquiries.

• Develop and enforce internal control procedures relating to accounting.

• Manage the system for inventory and job costing, conducting regular reviews of standard cost rates.

• Regularly liaise with company leadership and carry out specialized projects as required.

• Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

• Supervise financial planning and budget management functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent -MBA or CPA is a plus

• 6+ years of accounting and finance experience

• Cost Accounting experience

• Experience in Budget Processes and Month End Close

• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements and prepare Financial Statement

• Demonstrated skills in Continuous Process Improvement

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong Leadership Skills

• Excellent Communication Skills
