    Mission/Purpose of Job

    The Business Controller plays a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making within a retail sales organization. They provide financial leadership and guidance to optimize operations, maximize profitability, and achieve long-term business objectives.

    Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

    Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

    • Oversee the financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

    • Prepare and review financial statements, manage audits, and communicate financial performance to stakeholders.

    • Lead the general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory control and related functions.

    • Conduct the monthly closing process, including the consolidation of Arrow entities, and financial statement preparation to meet required deadlines.

    • Secure accuracy of general ledger accounts and financial reports.

    • Ensure that compliance and reporting requirements of state and federal agencies, including Canada.

    • Prepare and file various government documents, including property tax returns, license applications, annual reports, and surveys. Also, provide materials to group accountants for income tax returns.

    • Work with Human Resources on various matters relating to company benefits and pay arrangements to meet reporting requirements.

    • Serve as astrategicpartner to senior management, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business initiatives and achieve financial goals.

    • Analyze cost structures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    • Create a work environment of trust, empowerment, and teamwork.

    • Frequent travel may be required

    • Other projects and assignments as assigned.

    Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certifications:

    • B.S. Degree in Accounting/Finance, or related field

    • MBA or CPA Strongly Preferred

    Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

    • 5 years of experience in financial management or controlling roles, preferably in the heavy truck retail industry or automotive sector3 years in a leadership role

    • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access Power BI, etc.)

    • Proficiency in financial reporting, and ERP systems (AS400 system knowledge a plus)

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and budgeting processes.

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

    • Knowledge of internal controls, and regulatory requirements
