    Job Purpose:

    Work Incentive Benefits Specialist II assists' people with disabilities make informed choices about how work will impact their benefits. They analyze a person's services and benefits and explains to them how work will change their cash payments, medical coverage, and continued eligibility for entitlements.

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Provides benefits education and support to clients enrolled in Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) by identifying benefits, entitlements, and subsidies including Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, Supplemental Security Income, Medicare, Food share, as well as energy and housing assistance.

    2. Carefully thinks through complicated assignments or situations demonstrated logical thought and attention to detail

    3. Partners with clients to identify and resolve complex or sensitive issues client when applying for entitlements and benefits which they are eligible for.

    4. Provides benefit counseling services to help the individual understand complex programs and make informed choices about the impact of work on their benefits.

    5. Writes a comprehensive report to include all obtained information, calculations, and multiple scenarios to allow for client choice and future planning.

    6. Presents findings and reviews report with the client and their support network as requested.

    7. Maintains accurate records of client service delivery and the outcome of participation through coordinated documentation completion in the My Avatar and Provider Connect data bases. Assures all documentation follows technical specifications to assure payment for services rendered.

    8. Responsible for administrative functions including there is an active authorization in place and that the service has been added to the treatment plan, billing on completed services, maintaining referral tracking guide, direct interactions with funder and completion of productivity reports.

    9. Maintains statistical information on goal achievement for outcome reporting.

    10. Attends all mandatory meetings both internal and external as assigned.

    11. Practice and promote safety in the workplace; reports all accidents according to Agency procedures.

    12. Must maintain a valid driver's license and insurance in compliance with agency limits.

    13. Must be able to drive up to 50% of your shift weekly

    Qualifications

    Required Technical Skills, Experience, Education, and Credentials:

    1. Preferably holds a master's degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation, or Human Services. Bachelor's degree accepted based on certification and/or experience.

    2. Certified Benefits Specialist or 3 years of benefits analysis and counseling experience.

    Knowledge Skills Abilities:

    1. Knowledge to use work related equipment and applications such as cell phone and texting, computers, photo copier, Microsoft Office, and Teams.

    2. Ability to work with individuals who exhibit behavioral challenges.

    3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present information in a group setting.

    4. Must be computer literate including proficiency in word, excel, and internet-based programs.

    5. Must maintain a valid driver's license and insurance in compliance with agency limits.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

    Visual Acuity : The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.

    Working Conditions : The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
