Trainer, Revenue Cycle EPIC Location: Service Center, Omaha NE Hours: Days Responsibilities Job Summary / Purpose Responsible for developing and performing revenue cycle training related to the practice management system, policies/procedures, and processes. An incumbent serves as a main resource for the revenue cycle, clinic and provider questions. Work requires a strong knowledge of educational program development in a clinical and revenue cycle setting, adult learning theory and practice. Have the ability to accurately and timely trouble shoot/resolve questions/issues and to resolve (within scope of the position) issues which may have potential impact on revenues. Essential Key Job Responsibilities 1. Develop quality training materials and training programs using adult learning methodologies and instructional design strategies. 2. Maintain current training documentation making additions or deletions to the materials as necessary. Recommend and coordinate improvement/updates to existing training materials. Curriculum may be eLearning, instructor-led or a blended approach. Recommends and coordinate improvement/updates to education delivery techniques based on evaluation processes. 3. Conduct assessments, provide learning recommendations, facilitate training to meet the identified needs of the clients and routinely evaluates the training results. 4. Develop workflow-based educational videos incorporating practice management system and other applications for providers and staff. 5. Support end users post-implementation in a live setting by providing on-site and remote support. Support end users in defining and resolving problems within the practice management systems or other related applications and/or workflow processes. Maintain accurate documentation including a clear description of the problem, the steps utilized in problem solving, and description of the final solution. 6. Identifies and researches unusual, complex or escalated issues as assigned; applies problem-solving and critical thinking skills as necessary to resolve issues within the scope of the position authority. Identifies trends in clinic questions and billing issues, and proactively resolves in accordance with established guidelines. 7. Maintains current knowledge of internal, payer, and government regulations as applicable to assigned functions. Explains challenging payer requirements and regulations to clinics to prevent billing issues. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Required Education NA Required Licensure and Certifications Credentialed Epic Professional Billing Revenue Cycle Trainer, or obtain credential withing 6 months of date of hire Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Three years of revenue cycle or related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of government regulations including "signature on file" requirements, compliance program, HIPAA, etc. Knowledge of general concepts and practices that relate to the healthcare field, and specific policies, standards, procedures and practices that pertain to the assigned function. Knowledge of medical insurance, CPT, and ICD Codes. Knowledge of clinic operations related to patient registration, referrals and cash collections. Knowledge of medical insurance, payer contract, and basic medical terminology and abbreviations. Knowledge of regulatory/reporting requirements that pertain to the assigned function. Ability to understand and apply detailed billing requirements and insurance follow-up practices. Ability to keep abreast of trends, developments and changing regulatory requirements that impact matters within designated scope of responsibility. Ability to identify and articulate non-compliance with established guidelines and/or regulatory requirements. Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records, and to use discretion with confidential data and sensitive information. Skilled in professional interactions, working with integrity, respect, and innovation as a member of the Revenue Cycle Team in delivering service to our customers.
