    Summary

    The Technical Trainer develops and facilitates new hire and ongoing training/certification across the network with a focus on safely performing tasks within a heavy industrial setting such as torching, grinding, welding and gouging while also producing a quality, compliant preferred by our customers.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

    • Supports the development of employees through safety and quality assurance training

    • Assists in the development of training materials including written work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP)

    • Analyzes the effectiveness of the training and provides support where needed

    • Identifies training needs or gaps and develops plan for correction

    • Promotes and enhances safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout training process

    • Coordinates ongoing training with Plant Leadership teams to ensure compliance

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5 years of railcar repair or equivalent and working knowledge of machines/tools used to weld, cut and gouge

    • Ability to help others learn and develop

    • Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing

    Preferred Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet

    • Working knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and The Association of American Railroads (AAR) regulations
