  • Opportunity

    Abt Associates seeks an Associate with public health technical assistance experience. The successful candidate for will be responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of technical assistance projects funded by HRSA, CDC and/or CMS. This position will serve as Project Director for technical assistance projects and will guide the overall project work as well as lead components of the project technical assistance. The candidate will enjoy working in a team environment, participating in and leading major projects, directing proposal efforts, and managing relationships with the project sponsors. He/she will maintain excellent relationships with federal agencies and Abt training and TA partners and consultants, as well as be regarded within target agencies and organizations as a subject matter expert. The candidate will have demonstrated capability of presenting and speaking at professional meetings, and supporting development and publication of research findings.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Participate and occasionally lead efforts to design and implement technical assistance.

    • Serve as project director for medium to large HIV, primary care or MCHB-related projects.

    • Participate with other senior staff in HRSA, CDC and/or CMS business development activities by obtaining additional work from existing clients or by identifying new opportunities.

    • Exercise initiative and lead the preparation new proposals.

    • Maintain an industry presence as a subject-matter expert by presenting or publishing.

    • Review work and provide technical guidance to less senior staff. Serve as a resource capable of applying advanced techniques, concepts, and methods related to a particular field of specialization - HIV, primary care or maternal child health.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in a managing TA and training projects preferably with HHS agencies.

    • Position also requires significant experience in project and program development, sponsor relationship management, and a proven track record of project leadership.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • MA/MBA with 7 - 10 years of experience OR PhD with 4 - 6 years of experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
