Robert Half Management Resources is seeking a dynamic Interim Technical Accounting Manager to ignite excitement and innovation within our global entertainment partner in vibrant West Los Angeles. In this role, you'll spearhead the charge on implementing cutting-edge accounting standards, infusing each project with your expertise and flair. With a hybrid schedule, you'll experience the best of both worlds: three days of onsite engagement coupled with the flexibility to shape strategies remotely.

As a Technical Accounting Manager, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders and share your ability to provide insightful guidance on diverse accounting topics and policies, fortify internal controls, and champion corporate governance. Your expertise will be pivotal in deciphering and demystifying the latest IFRS requirements for our specialized Technical Accounting team, ensuring clarity and compliance across the board.

Collaboration is key in this fast-paced environment! You'll be at the forefront of critical project initiatives, collaborating with an array of stakeholders to illuminate the path forward. By identifying and elevating impacted processes, you'll leave an indelible mark on the organization's success.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

• Serve as technical accounting resource on IFRS project. Example activities include understanding the new IFRS requirements, preparation of accounting documentation and memorandums in support of the directional IFRS accounting positions for management, and audit review/approval.

• Support special financial projects, such as resolving technical accounting issues, coordinating with stakeholders, drafting memos and other required documentation, and updating our client's accounting policies.

• Collaborate with line of business (LOB) SMEs to understand their practices and develop future state practices that align with the new requirements.

• Educate finance personnel as necessary to comply with corporate policies and IFRS.

• Identify and analyze gaps from the current processes to new processes.

• Revisit process, controls, and other project documentation to be align with the new requirements, in close coordination with various stakeholders.

• Revisit required internal documentation of evaluated transactions/accounting issues in close coordination with compliance related stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years in an accounting role, whether in public or technical accounting.

• Experience in accounting guidance research and documentation (e.g., IFRS).

• Ability to document processes and controls.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate at all levels within a global organization.

• A CPA (or equivalent) is preferred but not required.

• Exposure to the Entertainment Industry is a bonus
