Tax Compliance Auditor

Description

We are offering an opportunity to join our team in Covington, Kentucky as a Tax Analyst. This role is critical in our organization as it involves the meticulous auditing of tax compliance, review of municipality tax returns, and oversight of documentation for payroll tax returns. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough audits of tax compliance to ensure adherence to established standards

• Reviewing various municipality tax returns and identifying any discrepancies

• Overseeing the preparation and submission of payroll tax returns

• Utilizing skills in Compliance, Income Tax Return, Federal Tax Return, Municipalities, Local Payroll Tax, and Payroll Tax Returns to perform duties

• Monitoring tax accounts for 15 cities in Kentucky and ensuring that all tax obligations are met

• Addressing and resolving any inquiries or issues related to tax returns

• Ensuring the accurate maintenance of all tax related documentation

• Collaborating with the team to review options every Monday

• Utilizing intermediate excel skills for data analysis and reporting

• Adhering to all regulatory standards in the performance of duties

Requirements

• Proven experience in the role of a Tax Analyst or similar position

• Proficient in compliance with tax laws and regulations

• Familiarity with municipal tax laws and regulations

• Knowledge of local payroll tax requirements and procedures

• Proven track record in preparing payroll tax returns

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
