Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant, primarily focusing on bank reconciliations, to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry. Based in OAK BROOK, Illinois, you will play a crucial role in our finance team, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions using Yardi software, maintaining financial records, and assisting in financial reporting. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records promptly

• Utilize Yardi software for recording, tracking, and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring data accuracy

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards

• Organize and file financial documents for easy retrieval and auditing purposes

• Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary financial information and ensure alignment with company-wide financial goals

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions and discrepancies

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing accurate and reconciled financial data

• Contribute to the generation of financial statements for management and regulatory reporting

• Identify opportunities for process improvement in bank reconciliation procedures and propose and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. Requirements - Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in managing General Ledger

• Experience with Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Yardi software

• Proficiency in Adjusting Journal Entries

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Experience in the Real Estate & Property industry is preferred

• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information

• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new accounting processes and tools.
