  • Overview

    ABM is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to join our finance team. The Mid-Level Accountant will play a key role in managing and maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting various accounting functions. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health and success of ABM by ensuring accurate and timely financial information.

    Position Summary

    The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing daily accounting tasks associated with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Invoicing, Job Costing, and Month End. The position requires knowledge in construction or project accounting.

    Essential Duties

    • Maintain and nurture cohesive and collaborative working relationships with internal teams (Operations and Service); coordinate with GM and all departments to assure proper and timely flow of data and documentation to the Accounting Department.

    • Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents; effectively represent the company's interest to outside agents to maximize profits.

    • Take ownership of the Accounts Payable process, including collecting, distributing, and processing invoices in financial system. Respond to customer concerns within 24-hours.

    • Prepare and distribute customer billing according to established schedule.

    • Ensure all job cost and billing tasks are performed timely and accurately.

    • Ensure all billing tasks (including project and maintenance agreements) are validated and entered timely and accurately in the financial system.

    • Produce accurate maintenance and project invoices for contract billings.

    • Consolidate approved expense reports and weekly per diem requests for proper processing.

    • Prepare and distribute all required accounting reports per accounting guidelines or instructions.

    • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and process improvements.

    • Support successful operations consistent with ABM Building Solutions policies, programs, procedures, systems, and guidelines.

    • Perform other duties and conduct research in specific areas assigned by Finance Manager.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in accounting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing, required.

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, previous experience in construction or project accounting, preferred.

    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint) advance user required.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, JDE, preferred.

    • Must be well organized, hard worker, great attitude, and a team player.

    • Ability to multitask, assisting with different projects at any given time.

    • Ability to understand and carry out instructions quickly and effectively.

    • Ability to keep accurate records of activities performed.

    • Ability to be proactive, bring forth ideas, attention to detail, quality and quantity of work are critical.
