THIS JOB IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO:
This role is responsible for cost accounting, financial reporting for the Global Operations team, and maintenance of the standard cost system at various locations throughout the X-Rite organization. Daily the Sr. Finance Analyst will work across accounting and finance disciplines to provide clarity on production costs, enable efficient daily management of KPIs and support finance and operations decision-making.
This is a HYBRID role with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.
WITHIN YOUR ROLE, YOU WILL:
Execute cost accounting procedures for X-Rite production operations including standard costing, overhead absorption, and inventory reserves
Assist in the development of the annual budget and standard cost roll.
Assist in product mix evaluation for forecasting and the impact to gross margin.
Perform month-end closing duties such as account reconciliations, manufacturing variance analysis, and financial reporting packages within established timelines
Research large cost variances from expected results with Operations team to develop holistic understanding of financial results for organization.
Prepare accurate journal entries and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP for inventory, E&O, freight, overhead allocation, variances.
Assist in the forecast and variance explanations around Gross Margin variances.
Plan and participate in annual physical inventory and cycle count audits/reporting
Maintain all accounting processes in accordance with GAAP and internal controls.
Prepare accurate Blackline balance sheet reconciliations to safeguard against accounting errors and instill a strong control environment.
Reconcile inventory residing at various X-Rite locations monthly and work with Operations team on necessary corrections.
Oversee Oracle / MAPICS transactional data batches and correct errors as necessary.
Supply Chain Operations Support
Support X-Rite Operations team through accurate financial reporting on inventory, purchasing and production efficiencies, inbound and outbound freight, and other costs of goods sold.
Partner with Operations Global teams to ensure control system around inventory levels, spot buy premium spend, and freight expenses.
Develop insightful financial reports for trend analysis and daily management as needed by X-Rite Operations leadership.
Carry out special projects and operational reviews as needed.
YOUR EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:
3+ years of accounting or relevant experience.
Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field
Oracle / MAPICS experience is a plus
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize to meet deadlines
Proven ability to solve problems using independent judgement and analytical skills
Able to work independently and within a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
