    We're looking for a Senior Buyer!

    The Senior Buyer is a strategy setter, collaborator, project manager, and negotiator who applies extensive knowledge of product and service offerings to provide purchasing support to the organization in the consumables and OEM products segment. This position executes projects and buying activities designed to support company operations and growth. This role supports all business segment activities from inception to close including reviewing and drafting letters of intent and services terms, preparing agreements, monitoring and administrating service performance, and managing expirations/renewals. The best candidate will understand and have experience in supporting new product development/introduction. He or she will also be knowledgeable in different procurement methods as well as understand and negotiate the required agreements for purchasing different kinds of products and services.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute direct material and OEM procurement strategy; prepare, negotiate, manage, and coordinate agreements supporting the consumables and OEM products business.

    • Collaborate with business leaders (product management, sales, customer support, finance) in the establishment and execution of procurement strategies.

    • Evaluate and select suppliers in terms of quality, service, cost and capability. Ensure competitive pricing and service model versus value proposition, industry trends and marketplace dynamics.

    • Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, create statements of work, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, select or recommend suppliers, write awards, and administer resulting contracts.

    • Manage supplier relationships including pipeline development, relationship development, communications, supplier onboarding, and project handoff to operational areas.

    • Skillfully utilize negotiation techniques to achieve spend and savings targets.

    • Work with various functions within the company including other business units to coordinate requirements, facilitate contract co-terminations, and leverage spend.

    • Administer and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance externally and internally.

    • Execute purchase order placement, administration and maintenance.

    • Keep apprised of market trends and changes in business practices.

    • Track cost savings, cost avoidances, and cost increases.

    • Perform various reporting and spend analysis to support the goals of spend management, terms, cost reduction, service levels, and contract renewals.

    • Other projects and duties, as required.

    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED

    • 5+ years of purchasing or related experience

    • Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft Excel expertise a must

    • ERP system experience

    • Experience in negotiating agreements and contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms and conditions

    • Solid knowledge of supply chain requirements, systems, supplier development, and process improvement

    • Ability to lead projects and influence peers and other cross-functional teams; strong communication skills

    • Ability to travel up to 20%

    • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for the US

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree

    • Experience in working with intellectual property concepts and contractual language

    • Experience working with contract manufacturers in a high-tech environment

    • CPM or CPSM Certification

    • Oracle experience
