We are looking for a Sr. Buyer to join our Exlar team!

As our Sr. Buyer you will be responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical supplies or services. You will coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. In addition, you will, process purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. You will monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value. You may recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing. You'll interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues, work with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability.

Your Challenge

• Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical supplies or services.

• Follows up on all awards until completion of order.

• Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes

• Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery.

• May provide work leadership for lower level employees.

What You Bring

• 5+ years experience.

• Bachelors or equivalent experience.

• Raw materials, casting and forging experience is a plus.

• Experience with ERP systems preferably Infor LN.

• Familiar with Microsoft office with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
