Sr. Accountant

Description A well-respected firm in the Manufacturing field is working with Robert Half to find a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience. In this position, you will be in charge of preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, and preparing audits, as well as managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. To thrive in this position, candidates should have exceptional analytical skills and enjoy working in challenging, fast-paced environments. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Manufacturing field and is located in Tonawanda, New York. What you get to do every single day

• Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

• Engage in various department-wide initiatives

• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - Strong time management skills preferred

• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

• 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Prior work done in public accounting is desired

• Comprehensive knowledge of Big 4 Accounting Firm

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• ERP system experience

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Detailed and have the ability work independently

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
