    Job Summary:

    As a Senior Accountant at Textron, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance within the organization. You'll actively engage with business unit and inter-departmental accounting, finance, and operational personnel to provide technical accounting guidance for identified transactions or events. Additionally, you'll support the development and execution of the enterprise-wide control plan, collaborate with external audit teams, and contribute to the Textron period-end close process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Actively engage with business unit and inter-departmental accounting, finance, and operational personnel to provide technical accounting guidance for identified transactions or events.

    • Support the development and execution of the enterprise-wide control plan, including managing and executing certain Control Plan deliverables. This includes identification of design and operational deficiencies, oversight for the development, monitoring, and closure of any required remediation plans with business unit stakeholders as well as results reporting to senior management.

    • Serve as the lead for the ongoing tracking, summarization, and analysis of pending and newly issued accounting and SEC reporting guidance. Liaise with members of the external audit team to ensure alignment with key facets of the potential changes and understand the related impact to Textron.

    • Support the Textron period-end close process through the execution of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.

    • Collaborate closely with members of the SEC reporting team and be responsible for the completion of a selection of SEC deliverables associated with our quarterly and annual filings including key financial statement and footnote related materials.

    • Develop inter-departmental relationships to ensure proper accounting on current projects.

    • Provide ongoing real-time coaching and feedback to staff personnel and LDPs, working closely with each to ensure proper development and exposure to growth opportunities.

    • Provide cross-department assignment support based on department needs.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum of 2 years of experience.

    • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy.

    • Strong focus on customer service mindset with all stakeholders.

    • Must have strong work ethic and be able to meet critical deadlines.

    • Ability to work in a cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives.

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

    • Proficiency in Word and Excel required.
