Sr. Accountant

Description

Robert Half is looking to appoint a detail-oriented Senior Accountant on a direct hire basis for our top-tier client. The Senior Accountant will be pivotal in supporting accounting functions, forecasting, and managing the monthly close process. This individual would also ensure timely and accurate completion of all internal reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing including creating and posting journal entries

• Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis

• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations

• Manage weekly cash reconciliation and forecasting activities

• Ensure data integrity and coordinate various interdepartmental actions

• Assist in operational improvements for efficiency

• Provide support for audit-related activities

• Complete and submit accurate monthly reporting package and forecast reports

Supplementary Duties

• Comply with government and corporate regulations, policies, and procedures

• Special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• An MBA or active CPA would be advantageous

• Minimum four years of experience in accounting or auditing

• Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or defense environment

• Minimum two years of accounting experience with a government contractor

• Familiarity with Microsoft D365 would be preferred

Key Skills

• Understanding of government contracting accounting regulations

• Strong Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS

• Proficient in MS Office Suite; highly proficient in Excel

• Understanding of accrual-based accounting

• Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures

• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
