    Position Summary:

    Provides support to logistics department in effectively supporting the daily operation of logistics in order to acquire control of inbound freight at less than delivered price to enhance the bottom line. Solves practical problems and deliver solutions that contribute to the ability of the business to grow. Deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Daily communication with buyers and fleet dispatcher with regards to expedited orders. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review vendors through cost study and accountability, determining whether vendor products will be delivered or customer pick-up to increase managed cases.

    • Complete daily and weekly billing for logistic and outside vendors, and help maintain a receivable ledger

    • Prepare billing of freight on all loads hauled by the company as outside trucks, along with running revenue reports.

    • Research, complete, and maintain logistics profiles on all vendors. Perform all aspects of computer entry and file maintenance in transportation management system. Update Foodstar system with logistics related information.

    • Invoice all logistics loads and apply appropriate unloading charges. Export loads daily. Identify backhaul pickups that do not meet the minimum requirement for revenue.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Excel Knowledge 1-2 years is a plus.

    • Preferred Education: Associates/2-year technical

    • Preferred Experience: 2 - 4 Years Computer data entry and analysis experience helpful in the foodservice industry.
