Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Service Estimator in our Long Island City (NYC) Commercial Sales Office!! In this position you will be providing estimates for HVAC service agreements and projects. These projects could include traditional mechanical service, energy retrofits, continuous commissioning and building automation systems.

Responsibilities & Scope:

• Prepares estimates for all service agreements
• Responsible for activities related to Service Agreement process including Opportunity set-up, pre-approval credit, estimates, document generation, ADP request/processing and transition
• Develops detailed scope based on Account Managers' proposed bid.
• Clarifies, reconciles, and adjusts information gaps and scope deviations with operations group
• Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer
• Coordinate and assign cloned opportunities in CRM.
• Work with Trane Financial Service for Credit Approvals
• Work with the Trane Federal Team, as needed.
• Work with the Trane Contract Management Team, as needed
• Supports the tech lead program including assisting and estimating of opportunity development, record keeping and reporting.
• Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points list.
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
• Utilizes plans, specifications, and knowledge of HVAC & controls to analyze project needs and compiles detailed cost estimates.
• Participate in job pre-bid meeting with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc. when required.
• Support and promote new processes and initiatives to increase productivity and accuracy in estimating.
• Maintains competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards.
• Project Review & Turnover Coordination/Meeting
• Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
• Documents work by maintaining files for each job.
• Process Service Agreements and warranty into fulfillment.
• Schedule and participate in internal project team meetings to ensure accurate transfer of information as needed.
• Backup for Service Administration Staff (as needed).
• Occasional job-site visits
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Building Automation Systems or HVAC / MEP related field preferred
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred with minimum of three years' experience in estimating, engineering, construction management; or Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management or three years' experience in estimating, engineering or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous technical controls and mechanical service experience desired
