  • SENIOR UNDERWRITER

     

    The Mortgage Underwriter will work to underwrite residential mortgage files in compliance with HUD, VA, Rural Housing, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and various other investors.

     

     

    Primary Duties:
    • Underwrites mortgage loan application… Review and validate loan application data and documents received for decision. Run and review all pertinent risk and collateral evaluation tools prior to loan decision, determines qualification of loans in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk or loss.
    • The underwriter will also execute a variety of tasks related to the review of complete mortgage loan packages for sale into the secondary market.
    • Verifies and validates for accuracy and completeness all documents received and confirms documents meet those required by various authorities including but not limited to FNMA, FHLMC, HUD and individual investors.
    • Updates and Maintains Loan Data and Documentation in Loan Origination System for Review, Quality Control and Audit.

     

    Employment Requirements:
    • Prefer a minimum of 5 plus years of direct mortgage underwriting experience.
    • Must be DE certified, prefer LAPP and SAR Certifications as well… with recent FHA, VA, and conventional loan underwriting experience.
    • Must possess good technical skills and be comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Calyx, Encompass, Byte, etc., as well as DO, LP and various other industry systems.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a good level of detail in documentation.
    • Must possess the skills of a self-starter and use logic and experience to review and document files.
    • Must have an advanced understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and Investor Guidelines.
