Primary Purpose of Position:
â€¢ Provide primary support to Tax Managers, Tax Director, and VP, Tax regarding all aspects of Tax Compliance for the Company, as well as review the compliance function.
â€¢ Ensure the compliance of all federal, state and local taxes as well as issue resolution for the Company.
â€¢ Ensure Company's compliance with rules under IRC Â§ 856-859 for Real Estate Investment Trusts.
â€¢ Oversee day to day tax compliance activities
â€¢ Supervise and mentor Tax staff, as well as participate annual reviews of Tax staff.
â€¢ Oversee SALT compliance in respective jurisdictions, to include working with Analysts on audits.
â€¢ Prepare federal tax return for Boston Properties, Inc.
â€¢ Responsible for State adjustments to Federal Income tax.
â€¢ Review REIT compliance under 859-859 of the code, for all public and private REIT's, including analysis of building amenities and services, as well as maintenance of the property management questionnaires.
â€¢ Part of Company Dividend process.
â€¢ Oversee TRS Provision and Compliance.
â€¢ Review of Tax Analyst's quarterly tax packages and tax returns.
â€¢ Review sales/use compliance.
â€¢ Responsible for partnership projection process and communications with partners.
â€¢ Maintain Partner relationships.
â€¢ Supervision of work flow of Tax Analysts and Assistant Tax Analysts. Supervision includes review and control of compliance workflow to ensure timely and accurate work product.
â€¢ Ensure proper compliance for Company Insurance Tax returns.
â€¢ 1099/W-9 review and maintenance.
â€¢ Work on special projects and transactions as assigned.
â€¢ Ensure proper compliance with 1099 filings.
â€¢ Review non-resident withholding.
â€¢ Respond to and work with various government authorities to resolve issues with respect to tax compliance.
â€¢ Assist other regional tax personnel work product as needed.
â€¢ Ensure timely and accurate filings for all requirements of department.
â€¢ As part of the Corporate tax group, work with team to ensure that group workload is performed in the most efficient and accurate manner.
Requirements and Qualifications:
â€¢ BS/BA in Accounting or related field required. CPA or MST in Taxation preferred.
â€¢ A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in Tax/Accounting.
â€¢ A minimum of 1-2 years of previous management experience desired.
â€¢ Strong analytical skills.
â€¢ Strong written and oral presentation skills.
â€¢ Proven initiative, and demonstrated skills for organization and multi task prioritization.
â€¢ Strong project management skills.

â€¢ Interfaces with all Regional Controllers as well as other regional personnel
â€¢ Establishes relationship and meets regularly with outside auditors and counsel.
â€¢ Establishes relationship and meets regularly with members of the finance group.
This position reports to Tax Managers, Director, Tax, and VP, Tax who provide supervision, guidance and evaluate work performance on a periodic basis.
This position supervises Interns/Clerks and Tax Analysts.
