    UPMC is looking for a full-time Senior Supply Specialist to support our Harrisburg location.

    This position works Monday- Friday, standard daylight hours. Free parking available on-site!

    Purpose:

    Place accurate orders and stock par locations for the most critical areas within the facility. Frequent and professional interaction with department heads, Clinicians, and Dr?s as needed for the purpose of product substitution and supply strategy. Responsibility for oversite of building out new par areas and coordinating updates across multiple teams.

    Responsibilities:

    • Accurately enters information of receipts of goods into Peoplesoft system as needed.

    • Responsibility of building out new par areas. This will include coordinating the project with maintenance, installing the bins, creating labels and affixing them to the shelves.

    • Coordinate ordering and placement of regulated items that have been identified by the Pharmacy to be readily available. The items can contain FDA legend medication under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy. Will be granted access to secure Pharmacy locations and will be supervised while in these locations by Hospital Pharmacy Staff.

    • Coordinate and employ additional storage strategies in areas where space may dictate creative solutions.

    • Coordinates items for shipment by packaging, marking and preparing bills of loading and/or other documents as required. Prepares items for return shipment coordinating between the user department and the Southside DC.

    • Work in the more critical areas (Anesthesia, OR, SDS, etc.) and will have frequent interaction with department heads, Clinicians and Docs. This could be to discuss switching products to corporately approved items, obtaining samples from the vendors or VAT Team, supply strategy and managing the value of the pars.

    • Unload equipment, inspects verifies, accepts or rejects supplies and materials from delivery trucks and stage in appropriate area for processing.

    • Fill supply requests and delivers those supplies to the requisitioning department. Ensures the recipient signs for delivered materials and supplies and returns signed delivery sheets for filing as required.

    • Accurately checks par stock areas for expired products. Properly disposes of expired products and replenishes inventory appropriately. Rotates inventory in par stock locations to minimize exposure to expired products.

    • Must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and in person, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital.

    • Attends annual Hospital and departmental fire/safety and infection control training and maintains current knowledge of safety procedures within the Hospital and department.

    • Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment; compare information on packing slip to verify accuracy noting any corrections; record discrepancies or damages in shipment and notify supervisor.

    • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness of assigned work area and maintain supply areas according to regulatory standards.

    • Store and stack items in the prescribed location within Materials Management Department.

    • Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could affect the clinical care of any patient.

    • High school graduate or equivalent required

    • Minimum three (3) years experience in supply chain, inventory control, materials management, purchasing or other related field is required; OR a two year Associate's degree and one (1) year professional experience

    • Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions

    • Ability to lift medium and heavy weighted supplies, push, bend and walk most of the day is required

    • Ability to safely and properly operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts and other material handling equipment

    • Ability to comply with attendance requirements

    • Ability to comply with Personnel policies Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
