As the Senior Legal Counsel for our Design-Build (DB) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) businesses, you'll provide counsel to operations and sales, acting as a legal advisor and business partner to leadership. The role will include significant, hands-on support of DB and O&M sales and operational challenges, including project pursuits, contract negotiations, bid protests, project delivery support, subcontractor issues, claims and litigation management, corporate compliance, risk management, and internal training and education. This position will reside in the Jacobs Legal Department and will report to the lead counsel of the buildings and infrastructure Americas team.

Here's What You'll Need:
At least 8 years of prior experience, preferably as in-house counsel, with a large engineering, program management, and/or construction firm
J.D. from accredited law school
State bar admission
Experience with state and local public procurement procedures
Experience with Design-Build and Operations & Maintenance projects, with an emphasis on water and wastewater projects
Experience with major programs
Experience with joint ventures and LLCs, including counsel to corresponding boards of directors
Claims and litigation management (including managing outside counsel)
Experience with professional liability, general liability, pollution, and builder's risk insurance
Experience with bid protests
Experience with prime contract and subcontract negotiation
Demonstrated ability to counsel senior management and business leaders
Demonstrated ability to counsel contract management and procurement staff
Demonstrated ability to partner with business risk management leadership
Ability to work independently â€¢ Ability to manage competing demands
Ability to travel as needed
