Robert Half is currently seeking a highly-skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join a dynamic team with a food manufacturing organization. This role holds responsibility for providing internal customers with reports, pricing formula development, cost analyses, and solutions, along with duties associated with internal accounting, budgeting, and general and cost accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop standard costs for inventory and maintain related systems

• Analyze costs for materials, labor, and other components

• Assess inventory valuations and monthly performance focusing on production reports and cost of goods sold

• Generate and track product costing for new and existing products

• Collaborate with sales and finance teams to adjust customer pricing based on costing information

• Report on margins by product, product category, and customer channel

• Analyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and utilization

• Recommend process changes to reduce costs or streamline operations

• Perform cost-benefit analysis of products over their life cycle

• Become a proficient user of the ERP system

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing organization

• Excel in analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities

• Proficient in MS Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge of cost and financial accounting

• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

• Preferred: Experience with Sage 3000 and ERP implementation
