  • The Lead Inventory Accountant is the primary cost accounting contact to help drive improvement in business performance mainly in costs, margins, inventory control and compliance for its products, facilities and processes. The Senior Inventory Accountant is responsible for the daily support and management of the Finance group, and for ensuring the timely provision of Finance support to the Operations Director, local Team Leaders to allow for effective planning and control of the business. What you will do + Oversee the inventory accounting function including monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting results (ex. margin, balances, inventory adjustments) + Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy. + Perform review of manufacturing variances and help to driven corrective action where required. + Perform review of inventory reserve calculations. + Participate in the development of Operations Budgets and Forecasts. + Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives. + Reconcile inventory related general ledger balance sheet accounts on a timely basis. + Perform analysis of custom products and new products costs and contribution margin. + Drive process changes in the Finance area to ensure the provision of information to key business owners is more efficient + Manage annual cost standards update process in timely and effective manner. + Participate in Sarbanes Oxley and other financial audits; prepare appropriate reports and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations. + Ensure that adequate internal financial controls exist and are adhered to within the facility + Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items. + Maintain a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to production, shipping, and returns on a monthly basis. + Assist in or lead special projects as necessary. + The successful candidate will be customer focused and act as a liaison between Finance and Manufacturing + Perform other duties as assigned What you need + Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent discipline is required. + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferred experience within cost/inventory accounting strongly preferred + CPA or related certification preferred + Strong understanding of inventory accounting controls, adherence to GAAP for inventory + Advanced experience with Excel, JD Edwards, Data Warehouse Reporting software #LI-Remote Work From Home: Remote Travel Percentage: 10% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
