    Summary:

    Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Senior Buyer for our San Diego, CA location. This role will be responsible for purchasing direct materials in support of production, to include sourcing new supply as requested by Manufacturing Sciences. Exercises independent judgment to address material issues. Negotiates quarterly and annual buys as required. Resolves Supplier issues with Receiving, Incoming Inspection and Accounts Payable. This role is 30% tactical and 70% strategic.

    Primary responsibilities for role:

    • Maintain ERP based purchasing system database, investigate inventory discrepancies, resolve delivery/receiving and payment issues

    • Routinely provides qualitative and quantitative supplier feedback in addition to scorecard to ensure supplier performance against KPIs.

    • Purchase assigned goods and services while working to improve quality, on time delivery, and price.

    • Maintain direct contact with Suppliers to ensure the quality and quantity of products, parts, and services meet established performance objectives including execution of Supplier Scorecards and QBRs.

    • Analyze incoming requisitions and shortage reports for quality, specification, pricing and delivery requirements and ensure efficient timely management of such

    • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.

    • Develops relationships with Suppliers whilst maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical conduct.

    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize safety stock minimize inventory obsolescence.

    • Review, resolve and escalate issues that impact production

    • Participate in Engineering Change Order review, approval and implementation of material phase-in and phase-out.

    • Ensure data integrity of master data elements which drive production and MRP (safety stock, cycle times, BOM accuracy, effectivity dates).

    • Manage timely execution of MRP actions to ensure uninterrupted supply

    • Troubleshoot transactional records to resolve inventory discrepancies and manufacturing variances

    • Build and maintain methodology and tools for ongoing performance analysis

    • Monitor supply chain key performance indicators, publish performance reports, perform root-cause analysis, implement action plans, and strive for continuous improvement. (plan vs. actual, VIM, OTD, expiry, shortages, etc.)

    • Provide training support for new personnel.

    • Create Ad hoc reports/analysis.

    • Able to understand risks associated with areas of responsibility and take action to avoid issues occurring.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

    • Strong negotiation skills

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word

    • Knowledge of SAP system navigation and Material Requirements Planning

    • Accuracy, dependability and ability to work in dynamic environment with tight requirements

    • Build collaborative relationships both internally and externally

    • Leadership in a matrix and/or project lead capacity

    Education:

    BA/BS degree or Associates degree and purchasing certification.

    Equivalency:

    5+ years of buying procurement experience

    Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical device industry preferred but not required

    Occupational Demands:

    May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 25 pounds in weight, and/or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 10 pounds in weight frequently or continuously.

    Pay Scale :

    The estimated pay scale for the Senior Buyer role based in San Diego, California, is $95,000 to $105,000 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 8% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
