We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Morton, IL.

    Job Summary

    As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst on the Parts Inventory Collaboration (PIC) Systems team in PSLD, you will be responsible for supporting the system platforms for the end-to-end PIC solution and owning several data sources under the PIC Data Analytics Suite. This position will also serve as a project lead for the technical initiatives related to PIC Systems.

    • This role is based in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation

    What You Will Do:

    • Ownership of multiple PIC Data Analytics Suite reporting views; responsible for documenting changes and enhancements through functional requirement documents (FRD) authoring, executing test scripts, and validating the output once the technical development is complete.

    • Assist with other testing initiatives that may include LIS release items, major and minor releases, and parts data interface (PDI) related testing.

    • Perform complex, deep-dive analysis using Structured Query Language (SQL) or other coding languages.

    • Interface with a wide variety of groups including leadership teams, Logistics Information Systems (LIS) team, global account managers, and dealer facing groups.

    • Lead and manage large, complex, technical projects as assigned.

    • Perform ad-hoc reporting requests.

    • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

    What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

    • Strong SQL coding skills; ability to read and write code; apply knowledge to problem-solve.

    • Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

    • Business Data Analysis : Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements. Usage in data warehousing platforms.

    • Business Assessment : Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.

    • Requirements Analysis : Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

    • Technical Writing/Documentation : Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.

    • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

    • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or similar relevant field.

    • Use of data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

    • Ability to lead large, technical projects.

    • Technical expertise in PIC systems landscape and/or Cat parts systems (inventory management, ordering, invoicing).
