  • Overview

    The Security Specialist will provide PERSEC support under this contract. This includes the management and oversight of activities performed to support the established standards, criteria, and guidelines upon which personnel security eligibility determinations are based.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Program Access Request (PAR) Management Support.

    • Electronically create, track, update, and provide trend analysis for PARs.

    • Perform Security Officer review of PARs and prioritize PARs when necessary.

    • Schedule and perform SAP indoctrination briefings with approved personnel.

    • Maintain Personnel files IAW current policy

    • Electronically process, track, update, and provide trend analysis for Partner/FMS PARs.

    • Coordinate and maintain accuracy of program billet rosters.

    • Provide Personnel Clearance (PCL) Management Support.

    • Execute reports to identify personnel requiring Periodic Reinvestigation (PR).

    • Coordinate PR initiation with employee's Service PERSEC POC and provide guidance.

    • Coordinate and manage the Continuous Evaluation (CE) program.

    • Facilitate adverse/required reporting actions as required.

    Qualifications

    Education / Certifications:

    • Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility required and current within the last five years

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or 6 years of additional related work experience or an Associate's Degree plus 4 years of additional related work experience.

    Experience:

    • 3+ years relevant work experience

    • In-depth knowledge of the JAFAN series security requirements

    Skills & Technology Used:

    • Ability to constructively engage and resolve challenging situations

    • Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand

    • Independent self-starter, proactive and professional assertive

    • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy

    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

    • Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills

    • Ability to multitask
