    This position requires someone to be on site 3-4 days per week

    Under the direction of the Director of Research Operations serves as the primary point of contact for financial matters relating to Dartmouth Cancer Center laboratory startups and dispositions for DH faculty hires, as well as cancer center affiliates and members funding and support. The position will work closely with college counterparts to ensure seamless laboratory startups and dispositions as well as to support and maintain financial and biographical information.

    Responsibilities

    Communication

    • Serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries regarding grants, funding sources, biographical information, financial transactions, and laboratory startups and dispositions for cancer center related matters. Is the primary point of contact for cancer center administrative and laboratory inquiries.

    • Provides clear and timely notice regarding financial deadlines, documentation, and financial impacts to the cancer center and related laboratories.

    • Works with Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) Laboratory Administrative and Facilities Operations Manager and Operations Assistant to maintain communication regarding lab updates, grant information, and billing cycles for procurement.

    • Serves as an on-site resource for general inquiries and is a liaison between college inquires and DH responses related to cancer center affiliated laboratories.

    • Communicates respectfully with a diverse community.

    Finance

    • Obtains, tracks, and reconciles documentation related to purchases for laboratories.

    • Owns and manages the procurement reconciliation process including expense report reconciliation, procurement ordering and resolution, procurement card ordering and resolution.

    • Works closely with SPA office and manages grant and funding portfolios for Dartmouth Health staff conducting research, instruction/education, or patient work affiliated with the cancer center.

    • Primary point of contact for funding related questions including balances, monthly updates, payments, and funding support.

    • Works closely with DCC counterparts to facilitate billbacks to/from Dartmouth Health for laboratory purchases.

    • Under the direction of the Laboratory Administrative and Facilities Operations Manager and Principal Investigator, places orders related to laboratory startup and disposition. Provides ongoing support to laboratories for ordering needs.

    • Responsible for requesting and following through on all laboratory purchase requests post laboratory startup.

    • Supports all requests for information and quote processes for laboratory equipment and purchases post start up.

    • Billing back of student support for grants held at DH.

    • Recruitment

    • Represents and provides support to labs for the hiring and onboarding process for new hires from within DH. Assists with the position requisition process including identification of qualifications, building of position descriptions, and other components of the recruitment process. Serves as an integral part of the recruitment process.

    • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience in a financial, hospital, research, or higher education setting

    • Two plus years of financial experience

    • Familiarity with scientific laboratories and equipment

    • Two years’ experience in a laboratory setting with familiarity of scientific equipment or two years’ experience in facilities management preferred

    • Experience with DH systems preferred

    • Proficient with basic computer software packages such as Office

    • Data entry

    • Strong organizational and communications skills

    • Highly organized

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work independently and set priorities.
