  • Job Description

    The Procurement Specialist is responsible for both day-to-day and strategic supplier management. This includes tasks such as purchase order placement, follow-up, and communication of demand and forecasts. As a negotiator, the specialist tackles complex issues and develops commercial strategies for products and service contracts. Additionally, they work to improve supplier relationships and performance metrics while mitigating risks that could impact the organization's ability to meet its business plan.

    The Procurement Specialist operates with a sense of urgency, providing timely support to internal clients and external customers. While managing relationships with both strategic and non-strategic suppliers, the specialist collaborates within a team structure including Sourcing Specialists, Supply Chain Coordinators/Planners, Supplier Technical Engineers, and Supplier Development Engineers. The specialist reports directly to a Site Sourcing Manager or Supply Chain Manager.

    In the realm of Supply Chain Management, the specialist applies advanced knowledge to manage processes, establish policies, and develop value-adding strategies. They emphasize the importance of building long-term professional relationships that optimize value and mutual loyalty. Additionally, the specialist monitors risk ownership from financial, business continuity, and compliance perspectives, ensuring that procurement processes meet audit, regulatory, and legal standards.

    Skills and Requirements

    -3+ years of direct buying experience of engineered components with a master's degree

    -5+ years of direct buying experience of engineered components with a bachelor's degree

    -Experience with ERP software and proficient with MS office suite -Masters Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain

    -Supply Chain Certification from a professional institution (APICS, IIPMR, ISCEA, ISM, etc.)

    -6- Sigma Blackbelt Certification

    -Experience using Baan null
