    Job Title: Procurement Intern

    Department/Group: Purchasing

    Location: Philadelphia, PA

    Reports to: Purchasing Manager

    FLSA Status: Hourly

    PCI Pharma is looking for a Procurement intern to join our team! In this role you will learn all aspects within a purchasing department and its relation to the overall supply chain with exposure to planning, inventory management, and vendor relations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

    • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and develop product ordering strategies.

    • Utilize analytical skills to help anticipate and react to inventory trends while assessing vendor performance.

    • Build strong vendor relationships through effective communication.

    • Identify the appropriate scope of suppliers for inclusion to the program

    • Coordinates purchasing/planning activities with operations, engineering, and other cross functional teams as deemed necessary.

    • Forecast customer purchases to guide planning strategies.

    • Assist in implementing process improvements.

    • Perform data analysis to support business needs.

    • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff on data and information.

    • Assist in maintaining supplier list in vendor database management system.

    • Update and manage supplier & category spend trackers.

    • Assisting on a variety of business projects requiring research, cost analyses, and engagement of internal/external stakeholders.

    • Key initiatives may include activities such as analyzing a category of spend and developing strategy, executing, and delivering a savings project, developing KPIs, reports, or dashboards, working with suppliers to acquire and update data, improving and documenting procurement processes, and implementing system improvements.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

    Required:

    • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline

    • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in procurement and supply chain management

    • Experience with Microsoft Excel a must.

    • College Level Mathematical Skills

    • Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.

    • Intermediate Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions that may be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations.
