    JOB SUMMARY

    The Materials Planner is responsible for inventory replenishment of assigned branches and Distribution Centers. Additionally, this position is also responsible for meeting customer service objectives while managing inventory and asset utilization levels to be in line with department goals. Materials Planner will also work closely with Sr. Materials Planners and the management team to identify and implement various process improvement initiatives and projects. It is critical for this position to be able to balance activities related to servicing daily customer requirements while assisting in longer term process improvements of their assigned DC branches.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for managing distribution and purchasing plans to meet customer service requirements includingmanaging supply of products to the branch andworking closely with branchstaff to ensure they have adequate inventory to service Apria patients.

    • Manage asset utilization and inventory levels to ensure department targets are met while meeting customer service requirements including daily interaction with branch staff to ensure they have steady flow of inventory.

    • Track Purchase Orders with Suppliers, DCs, andBranch personnel to resolve any issues related to past due or qty discrepancy.

    • Work with Accounts Payable when invoice variance occurs.

    • Monitor ERP and planning system data accuracy and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.

    • Assist management team in implementation of various initiatives

    • Respond to requests by team members

    • Cover absenteeism and support employees when necessary

    • Participate in training and cross-training as needed.

    • Perform standard work (agreed buying, replenishment, off-cycle and other assigned activities) in agreed time.

    • Participate in small group activities with DC team members and work on continuous Improvement projects

    • Participate in daily huddles for assigned DC branches

    • Review Daily performance versus target for variance to plan on key performance indicators

    • Participate in discussions with DC team on gaps and improvement actions.

    • Initiate improvement actions and communicate help needed to management team

    • Collect data and complete required reports

    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and/or Experience

    • Education or experience (four years Inventory Material Planning/Purchasing experience) equivalent to a four year college degree is required.

    • N/A

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

    • Strong analytical and problem skills are required

    • Demonstrated Ability to listen and learn new things

    • Demonstrated Ability to identify and solve problems

    • Demonstrated ability to work well in teams

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

    Computer Skills

    • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office and MS Word.

    Language Skills

    • English (reading, writing, verbal)

    Mathematical Skills

    • College level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (only include Preferred Qualifications if needed)

    Education and/or Experience

    • JDA Planning system experience highly desired

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

    • APICS certification highly desired
