Manufacturing Controller

Description A growing manufacturing company located in the Galleria area is adding an Assistant Controller to their team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Produces monthly financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Responsible for leading month-end closure including financial analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations.

• Reviews and approves all journal entries.

• Recommends benchmarks (KPIs) that will be used to measure the company's performance.

• Produces annual budget and monthly profitability forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit (PBCs).

• Approves weekly check-run and outgoing wire transfers.

• Oversees AR collections and serves as escalation point for all collections issues.

• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

• Manages and mentors' direct reports. Provides training as needed.

• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Ideal candidate will have

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

• Excellent management and supervisory skills.

• Bilingual (Spanish).

• Advanced Excel and experience with SAP (preferred)

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting (manufacturing) required.

Compensation is up to 120K plus bonus.

• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

• Month end closings experience required

• Standard Cost Accounting experience desired

• Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• CPA or MBA preferred

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
