    This role is for a claim's leader of our core claims group. This leader will manage a team casualty claims specialists. Manager may be responsible for PIP Adjuster and other casualty adjusters. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced claim professional and leader with extensive experience managing and/or handling liability claims on a national basis. This role provides leadership to staff by leading organizational change, developing and empowering staff, cultivating relationships, and putting staff in a position to succeed. This leader will manage and coach an effective team with diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals. This leader will drive engagement and create a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.

    Major Responsibilities

    Ensure all claims are managed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.

    Oversee all processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.

    Ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate claim payments by maintaining necessary claim controls and guidelines, thereby providing high levels of customer service.

    Implement and administer established policy/procedures by effective management of claims.

    Assist in the execution of controls and guidelines for department; supervise and monitor the claims handled by the staff adjusters.

    Ensure prompt resolution of policy coverage issues which comply with state laws, including unfair claims practices statutes to include review and approval of all coverage related letters drafted by staff adjusters.

    Review individual claim files to determine compliance with policy/procedures and provide results of review to claim representatives; monitor and revise case reserves to ensure accuracy to cover expected losses.

    Select, develop, motivate, and train a quality staff to achieve Claims Department objectives.

    Responsible for training to facilitate continued development of staff to achieve Claims Department objectives productivity, policies/procedures, and department and/or company objectives. Training could include organizing and facilitating weekly claim round table meeting for training and development of adjusters.

    Monitor and evaluates employee performance; provides frequent feedback regarding performance and prepares annual performance evaluation. Responsible for hiring and terminating employees.

    Attend industry-related courses or participates in professional associations to maintain a company presence in the insurance field and to keep abreast of new information and laws related to insurance issues.

    Administer all staff performance reviews.

    Travel as needed to attend meetings.

    Work with the Vice President of Claims on various matters.

    Minimum Education or Certifications Required

    Bachelors' degree with 7+ years of relevant casualty claims experience or equivalent.

    Must have 2+ years of management experience.

    Experience handling auto and general liability claims.

    Must have strong Litigation Management skills.

    Must have strong negotiation skills.

    Insurance designations preferred.

    Must be able to read and interpret coverage and have experience in handling coverage issues.

    Must maintain necessary state adjuster license as needed.

    Must have the ability to lead a team.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate internally and externally.

    Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Superior attention to detail and customer service skills.

    Strong organizational and time management skills.

    Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
