    The Headlines :

    The Legal Operations Analyst is focused on optimizing performance and efficiency and will lead projects across a diverse range of subject matters (strategic planning and execution, finance and budget management, legal technology and tools, matter management, outside counsel and legal vendor management).

    The Legal Operations Analyst will report to the Vice President - Legal, Litigation & Risk Management, and work closely with legal and business stakeholders to create or enhance processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department, facilitate change, and optimize costs.

    Responsibilities :

    • Identify and implement strategic, financial, and operational initiatives to enhance efficiency.

    • Develop project and budget requests under the direction of the legal and government affairs (LGA) leadership team. Implement and manage projects and their respective budget according to the function's priorities. Identify projects, create the business case and supporting presentation, and present and provide project and budget updates to the LGA leadership team.

    • Analyze benchmarking and current spend to determine efficiencies that maximize the value of our vendors, tools and outside counsel.

    • Assess and optimize workflows (knowledge and billing management), technology and tools within the legal department.

    • Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the department that will better inform decision-making and outcomes.

    • Assess department resources for matter and data management, knowledge management, and billing management, and over time, refine and implement related tools, systems, and processes.

    • Provide creative thinking to help identify and develop innovative strategies for increasing value and reducing outside legal spend, while maintaining excellent legal representation and optimizing engagement practices with our law firms.

    • Manage onboarding of new team members and identify cross-functional and knowledge-sharing/training opportunities for the existing team. Serve as a resource to the LGA leadership team and their teams for special projects and cross-functional responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    • You have at least 5 years of experience in legal operations at a company or law firm.

    • You have experience developing operational strategy and playbooks.

    • You have strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining the support needed from cross-functional partners.

    • You have experience with evaluating and implementing legal technology solutions.

    • You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    • You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, recognizing shifts in business priorities, and embracing change.

    • You love a challenge.You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.

    • You build relationships and collaborate to get to the desired outcome.

    • You take accountability for results, acting with integrity and honoring commitments.
