Chief Financial Officer

As a key member of the Darley Management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President/CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.

Requirements
  • Manage as an accounting leader with an operational mindset offering guidance in various business units within manufacturing and distribution business unit operations.
  • Safeguard the companys assets through robust internal controls.
  • Manage the cash flow of the company with timely receivable collections while developing supportive relationships with suppliers through advantageous payment terms and payments.
  • Hands-on approach to resolving customer issues working to oversee A/R credit and collection management to maintain a low risk customer portfolio.
  • Work closely with the Controller to review and analyze financial statement results and effectively provide financial overview of the business to management and board of directors.
  • Assist outside accounting firm to provide timely reviewed annual financial statements, shareholder returns and tax payments.
  • Provide financial analysis to support operational strategy and to enhance decision making throughout the organization.
  • Evaluate credit worthiness of suppliers and perform cost analysis on bids that require prepayment in effort to conserve companys capital and quickly govern the decision of the bidding process.
  • Ensure the company maintains tax compliance throughout its domestic and international jurisdictions and among all the different tax classifications (sales, income, property, payroll, etc.)
  • Lead the finance team of four and create an environment for team members to thrive and provide sound financial support and operational guidance to leaders across five business unit operations.
  • Manage banking relationships and credit lines to ensure covenant compliance, optimal fee structure, and limited interest expense and borrowings.
  • Oversee the risk management of the enterprise; work with outside broker to provide to optimal coverages through insurance carriers while limiting costs.
  • Attend semiannual Management meetings and provide an abbreviated review of each Divisions financial performance.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for each division.
  • Provide long term financial planning that supports profitable business growth.
  • Be the leader when it comes to Merger and/or Acquisitions.

Education

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Masters degree in business or accounting preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of senior financial leadership.
  • Ideally, some experience in public accounting.
  • Multi state sales tax return and compliance experience.
  • Experience in scaling a business.
  • Family Business experience is preferred.
  • Defense Contracting experience is preferred.

  • Registered or Licensed CPA preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and navigate our ERP system (JD Edwards).
  • Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence.
