    BWX Technologies Inc. is currently seeking an Internal Audit Intern - Summer 2024 for its Lynchburg, VA location!

    Job Description/Duties:

    • Analyze audit data; assist with drafting audit communications; assist with risk assessments and prepare presentations.

    • Assist with internal audits by testing transactions and documenting audit results.

    • Participate in interviews with business process owners to better understand business processes being assessed as part of an engagement, including operational and compliance audits.

    • Assist with presenting audit results to Internal Audit leadership and business partners

    • Take lead on special projects with the help of the internal audit manager and VP.

    Job Qualifications/Requirements:

    • College Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business.

    • Foundational understanding of internal audit industry practices.

    • Basic understanding of risk management concepts and the impact of internal audit on risk management.

    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated abilities in Excel.

    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion.

    • Active passport is required for potential audit fieldwork travel to Canada.

    The starting hourly rate for this position in Virginia is expected to be $18.50 - $31.50 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify the hourly rate (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation, or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or applicable department/team performance, and other market factors.
