    WSP is initiating a search for our Indiana Local Business Leader to lead the Indianapolis, Indiana office.

    The Indiana Local Business Leader will drive operational performance and growth while positioning WSP as the preferred and trusted choice for our clients, employees, and business partners. In this position, in partnership with your local team, you carry responsibility for the health and success of the local office through internal collaboration and teamwork. The Local Business Leader will passionately lead the Indianapolis office through WSP's strategically focused four pillars of success: People & Culture, Clients, Operational Excellence and Expertise, The Local Business Leader is the external face of WSP in Indiana and leverages local and national resources to deliver significant value to our clients. With the support of District and National Leadership, the Local Business Leader will deliver on growth objectives to meet short and long-term strategic objectives. Of equal significance, the Local Business Leader is fully accountable for operational performance, mastering the dynamics of the business to deploy resources to advance business objectives.

    • Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District and National Business Lines.

    • Provides civic and industry leadership to local professional organizations.

    • Advances the strategic direction of the Indianapolis office and positions the WSP for sustained and continued growth.

    • Leverages WSP's broad technical local and national experience to enhance current and new service offerings.

    • Fosters development of new innovations to remain trusted thought leaders in our industry.

    • Encourages, supports, and promotes technical and professional development of local WSP staff.

    • Ensures the solutions we deliver reflect our expertise and enhance the WSP brand.

    Operational Excellence

    • Instills a "Founder's Mentality" that drives a culture of accountability and entrepreneurship.

    • Develops and executes local growth and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region, and National Business Line Leaders

    • Drives rigor in business practices and supports organizational initiatives to drive business performance.

    • Ownership of the portfolio of local projects and quality of the work performed by local staff for clients and other WSP offices. Focuses on and inspires excellence in delivery of every project.

    • Responsible for financial and operational performance contributing to District business P&L meeting operational and financial metrics: revenue, profitability, growth, overhead expenditure control, project performance, pursuit management, recruiting and retention, client satisfaction, staff utilization, safety and other metrics.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning or related Infrastructure field. Advanced degree is a plus.

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience with a college degree or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportation market

    • Demonstrated leadership experience - personally accountable, persistent and goal-oriented

    • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to build long-term, meaningful relationships with clients.

    • Ability to think strategically and creatively, and craft approaches to challenging problems.

    • Ability to translate complicated technical information into sales messages.

    • Sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice

    • Commitment to internal and external client service

    • Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts, including: state DOTs, municipal, county, private, and business partners in local area.

    • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

    • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
