  • Job Responsibilities

    The Human resources assistant is responsible for managing the onboarding process for new hires.

    Job Description

    This includes creating offer letters, conducting background checks, setting up orientations, updating the onboarding tracker, and ordering shoes for crews (including yearly replacement orders). The Human resources assistant also conducts orientation sessions for all new hires, including participation in welcome back meetings (Fall and Spring). They are responsible for maintaining employee files, ensuring that each file has accurate and up-to-date information, and making sure all sign-off sheets are in files (SAFE Handbook, Employee Handbook, etc.). The Human resources assistant is responsible for I-9 documentation accuracy, including copies of all documents in the I-9 binder. They alert the management team when out of compliance and if/when associates should be removed from the schedule due to incomplete status. The Human resources assistant leads recruitment efforts, including job fairs and job advertisements (Indeed, etc.). The Human resources assistant is responsible for layoff information, including layoff letters, layoff spreadsheet submittal, and return from layoff submittal. They keep the Human Resources board up to date with accurate information/posters.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor?s degree in human resources or related field.

    • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources or related field.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Experience with HRIS systems.

    Physical Demands:

    This job may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as some light lifting.

    Working Conditions:

    This job may require occasional evening and weekend work.
