The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology serves as a regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for patient care, research and educational programs in laboratory medicine. The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) has an outstanding opportunity for a Fixed Duration Appointment Human Resources Coordinator. Under the general supervisor of the Department of Laboratory Medicine Pathology (DLMP) Human Resource Associate Director, this position provides clerical and consultative support to the department with HR processes, especially the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes. Position provides a high level of customer service and professionalism as department representative, working closely with hiring managers, general staff, UW Human Resources, potential employment candidates, and third-party organizations. Position will develop, document, and implement new approaches, processes and standards as needed, to support recruitment and employment, as well as participate in/complete the related daily operations. Position may educate or train others in HR policies, processes, and/or systems. Position may manage sensitive information and/or assist in sensitive situations, in relation to human resources, and so must be able to employ discretion, tact, respect, and escalate appropriately. The successful candidate must possess exceptional organizational skill, with an extra emphasis on task and issue-tracking, in addition to strong communication skills (written and verbal), problem-solving, and flexibility. RESPONSIBILITIES Posting Confirm posting of approved position in UWHires. Post internal job advertisement flyers, as required, track date of posting to maintain compliance with hiring requirements. Maintain department profile and create and maintain postings, on third party recruitment sites, including submitting and updating listings, coordinating and managing interview requests submitted through site, responding to questions submitted by interested individuals through site, troubleshooting, reporting site issues to vendor, etc. Serve as a point-of-contact (POC) for external and internal inquiries regarding employment opportunities. Use exceptional customer service skills in all interactions. Candidate selection & interview processes: Follow up with HR recruiters to acquire candidate resumes. Perform licensure verification on job applicants to confirm candidates meet requirements of position applying for. Conduct phone screens, schedule interviews directly with recruiters, candidates, and hiring manager/panel. Provide follow-up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status via phone and email. Hiring: Conduct reference checks for final candidates of a recruitment. Notify selected candidate of offer, confirm acceptance, and advise candidate on next steps. Other: Maintain accurate and complete screening/interview records and all related necessary documentation for employee files. Work closely with departments' assigned HR specialists and leadership on all HR recruitment related activities. Coordinate and represent department through participation in recruitment events such as job fairs and other outreach activities. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Requires High School/ GED AND two years of office or administrative support experience OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. DESIRED Proficiency working with spreadsheets, sharepoint and databases.
