  • Provide legal support across all lines of business enabling profitable growth while mitigating legal risks and assure adherence to governance policies, ethics, and country specific laws and regulations Responsible for providing legal advice to the organization. Close liaison to business in providing a variety of corporate and commercial legal services. May perform litigation on Oracle's behalf or coordinates litigation and other legal, administrative or investigative actions handled by outside counsel. May draft, review, and negotiate major and/or non-standard technology contracts with public and private sector customers, including licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and cloud services agreements. May advise on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance. Responds to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions. Works closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinates legal matters handled by outside lawyers. Demonstrates deep general commercial or functional knowledge across a wide range of sub disciplines within the individual's specialty area(s), (e.g., general corporate law, antitrust/competition law, securities compliance and regulatory, employment law, immigration law, cloud transactions, data privacy, risk management asset-backed financing, contract management, intellectual property, trade secrets, advertising law, registration and other resolutions specific to the computer and technology industry) Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years related experience. Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar background is a plus for roles within certain sub disciplines. Completed law degree and member of bar association in relevant jurisdictions. Excellent legal skills and business judgment in areas of responsibility. Proficient writing skills. This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado. About the Position: This Global Compliance Counsel position is a broad, multifaceted role that spans across all aspects of a mature and continually evolving Compliance & Ethics Program. You will report directly to Oracle's Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer, and will play an active role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Global Compliance & Ethics Program. Responsibilities: * Handling internal compliance investigations, with both internal teams and outside counsel (when needed). This includes managing, assisting, and documenting internal and any government-initiated compliance investigations. * Advising on legal and regulatory matters, particularly with respect to global anti-corruption laws and legal developments in the area. Evaluating and reporting on compliance issues and areas of risk. * Developing and communicating compliance policies, programs and processes. Leading and effectively managing other compliance projects, programmatic changes, and initiatives crafted to continue to advance Oracle's compliance program. * Working closely with Oracle's Regional Compliance & Ethics Officers in an assigned region or regions (among the EMEA, JAPAC, LAD and North America regions) to assure implementation of corporate compliance initiatives, programs, and processes. * Interacting cross-functionally with internal audit teams, human resources, finance, operations, sales, channels, and information security and to help progress remediation activities. * Conducting M&A-related due diligence. * Advising on onboarding and Oracle's partners and suppliers, including (as needed) reviewing and advising on certain due diligence issues raised from the various regions. Preferred Qualifications: * If you have a minimum of 5 years of significant experience in corporate compliance relating to anti-corruption and adherence to company business practices and policies, Oracle can put your experience to work. * Experience in government, a nationally recognized or strong regional law firm, or a corporate law department or compliance program is an advantage. * You should be a U.S. licensed attorney with strong academic credentials. * You should have excellent knowledge of global anticorruption laws (including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) and global trends and developments in enforcement. * A firm understanding of business finance and accounting principles is an advantage. * We are looking for excellent writing, analysis, communication, and partnership skills. * Strong project management and organizational skills are essential. * Experience developing and implementing process design improvements and expanding the use of smart technology to support balanced and efficient processes is helpful.
