    Who we are

    HII - Mission Technologies is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our Division Intermediate Home Office. The Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of the Indirect Cost Management team and is responsible for providing timely financial and operational analysis to facilitate sound business decisions. Focuses on the budgeting, monthly forecasting and consolidated financial reporting, with emphasis on controlling indirect costs. Conducts and leads financial analysis of key metrics, trends, risks, and opportunities. Interacts with all levels of the Division Intermediate Home Office as functional organizations. Suggests and assists in implementing changes to processes and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and internal and external customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the Division Intermediate Home Office Annual Planning, Monthly Forecasting, Results analysis and reporting processes, with emphasis on indirect costs and impacts to Intermediate Home Office allocations.

    • Lead timely and accurate preparation of monthly quarterly and annual reporting.

    • Understand and analyze the functional departments' monthly/quarterly financial results (vs. forecast, prior year, budget) and clearly articulate themes and performance drivers; this includes driving efforts to understand root cause of variances and making recommendations to enhance business performance.

    • Create and manage effective reporting presentations that clearly and concisely communicate the business unit's results.

    • Have a willingness to understand the business, end-markets, competitive environment, industry peer group and general economic conditions that impact the company.

    • Own and build on current models to forecast financials and operational KPIs; Develop and implement FP&A best practices, procedures and processes to drive forecast & planning, business insight and analysis to support senior leadership team.

    • Indirect rate forecasting and variance analysis.

    • Collaborate with functional leaders to successfully manage and assess spend against budget with regards to business development, capex, facilities and other indirect activities.

    • Collaborate cross functionally as a "business partner" to drive continuous improvement in reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis processes.

    • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis/special projects to assist management in understanding business performance.

    • Identify company risks and opportunities and provide analytical contribution.

    What you need to have

    • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.

    • Ability to understand and resolve complex financial problems effectively.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Excellent presentation skills required.

    • Excellent research and analysis skills.

    • Working knowledge of relevant software applications, including Excel, and others

    • Experience in large-scale government contracting environment with complex organizational structure

    • Experience in job cost or service industry.

    • Strong analytical skills.

    • Detail oriented.

    • Strong customer service focus.

    • Experience in building and leading a high performing team.

    • Ability to muti-task.

    • Proficient utilizing Deltek Cost Point, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.

    • Knowledge and ability to ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley, Federal Regulations (FAR, DFARS, CAS) and all company policies and procedures as they relate to contract performance and financials.

    • Self-starter with independent curiosity to dig deep within details to find answers and propose/implement solutions.

    Bonus point for

    • Masters Degree Preferred.

    • Experience utilizing OneStream Finance Reporting System.
