This Financial Analyst position includes tasks like measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans and conducting financial modeling on a variety of financial products. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing reports for management and advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives. In this role, you will serve as a key business partner in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. The Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. In conjunction with your day-to-day tasks, you will assist with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. This Financial Analyst role, which is located in the Chelsea, Michigan, is a permanent employment opportunity.

    Key responsibilities

    • Compile and supervise forecasting reports

    • Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

    • Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

    • Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support

    • Work with the Accounting team on monthly and quarterly financial close processes

    • Track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations to ensure business partners handle their resources r

    • Survey performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

    • An ideal candidate should be highly flexible, comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

    • Develop monthly reports to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

    • Possess the know-how and be able to explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

    • Collaborate with senior executives on strategic deep dives on creating financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, event tracking and execution, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, and strategic resource allocation, and prioritization Requirements - Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

    • Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

    • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

    • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

    • Adeptness in Operational Budgets

    • Expertise in Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Prepare Budgets

    • Microsoft Excel experience highly preferred

    • Proficiency in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

    • Experience with Cash Flow Analysis

    • Solid understanding of finance

    • Practical knowledge of Inflation

    • KPI Reporting experience

    • General familiarity with financial modeling

    • Prior experience in Spreadsheet and ERP system

    • Excellent problem-solving skills

    • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience considered)

    • Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
