  • Requisition ID # 55804 Job Category : Human Resources Job Level : Individual Contributor Business Unit: Electric Operations Job Location : San Ramon Department Overview The men and women of Major Projects and Programs ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Major Projects and Programs is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution, transmission and substation overhead and underground patrols and inspections. Position Summary Monitors and supports the centralized System Inspection training program. Managing the planning and scheduling of Distribution, Transmission, Substation and Drone training logistics including organizing and scheduling long-term training projects that involve numerous contractors. Identifies and corrects conditions or situations that interfere with the efficient training and timely progression of the training program. Job Responsibilities + Manages apprentice training progress of 30-50 apprentices. + Coordinates sequence of training events + Co-develops corrective action plans + Provides training resources, guidance, and advice to support apprentice programs. + Maintain records in electronic data base and ensure that training is completed and properly documented + Acts as field trainer to aid apprentice development + Managing and Maintaining the planning and scheduling of Distribution, Transmission, Substation and Drone training, coordinate logistics (virtual or otherwise) and include organizing and scheduling long-term training projects that involve numerous contractor + Coordinating with HR NEWP, HR Background/Eligibility checks for vendor personnel, tenure issues (extensions and exceptions requests, BIS) and coordinating with Corp Security for badging + Remote access IT coordination for vendor personnel such as coordinating with PG&E IT for Company asset, BYOD issuance/provisioning/tracking, support Managers & Supervisors in procuring Tech Tools i.e laptops, iPADs and maintaining Syst Insp Active Directory groups (adding and removing) + Collecting and submitting all the appropriate forms for background checks, employment eligibility and implements corrective action plans when not in compliance Qualifications Minimum: + Experience in technical trade, journey level, or equivalent, 3 years + High School or GED-General Educational Development diploma Desired: + At least two years of experience with MS Office + Knowledge and application of the IBEW Labor Agreements and associated Letter Agreements + College degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience preferred + Prior technical instruction experience. + Prior experience working in a training organization + Ability to instruct apprentices/students to impart technical knowledge in classroom environment as well as physical skills in field environment + Ability to observe, coach and mentor students in field/yard and in classroom channels, materials, and methods don't work. + Ability to communicate unwelcome and difficult messages to others while preserving the working relationship. + Ability to influence others to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to maintain training compliance. + Excellent verbal and written communication + Knowledge of Pre-Apprentice and Apprenticeship programs and training requirements + Ability to work independently most days without direct supervision + Ability to manage record-keeping. + Ability to follow through with minimal direction + Working knowledge of adult learning methods + CompTIA-Computing Technology Industry Association CTT-Certified Technical Trainer Certification Hiring Leader Name: Sylvia Urizar Pacific Gas and Electric Company is an Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity Employer that actively pursues and hires a diverse workforce.
