The External Manufacturing Procurement Category Lead engages contract manufacturers organizations and toll formulators. The role is responsible for the strategic sourcing of goods and tolling services in a way that adds value to Corteva, by delivering cost savings, reduced supply risks, and improved manufacturing and formulator network capabilities. This role will establish and execute the category strategy and identify opportunities for improvement in the business processes.

    What You'll Do:

    • Overall responsibility for establishing and executing the category sourcing strategy.

    • Run end to end sourcing events including market analysis, RFx documentation creation, evaluation, negotiation, selection, and contract implementation.

    • Support regional procurement activities including supplier relationship management, contract management and internal communications.

    • Build strong internal relationships with stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency on both the internal and supply side.

    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the business is maximizing value, not only through cost reduction, but also through new products and initiatives.

    • Identify and execute opportunities to improve ways of working and modernize data flow and communication between suppliers, procurement, and stakeholder.

    • Ensure company procedures and guidelines are followed and good business practices are maintained.

    • Manage commercial relationships with suppliers, mapping risks and opportunities; and builds a strong partnership and collaboration with the EM network leadership team aligning on agenda and priorities.

    Qualifications

    What Skills You Need

    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, chemical engineering

    • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management / procurement with a multinational company

    • Preference will be given to candidates that have a technical background (Chemistry &/or Engineering) and prior experience in the operations and/or supply chain and commercial negotiations.

    • Understanding of key and basic business and financial acumen skills.

    • Proven skills in building and implementing Category Sourcing Strategies Project management \ portfolio management skills.

    • Strong communication & facilitation skills.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities.

    • Strong interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

    • Demonstrate ability to quickly adapt to changes and new environment,

    • Demonstrate ability to work with and influence multiple functions and business partners and, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Effective time management skills.

    • Autonomous, self-motivated, and proactive.

    • The ability to leverage broad network (internally & externally) to maintain market knowledge and best practice awareness.
