Job Overview
With a rapidly growing need for energy data analysis, CBRE's Energy and Sustainability team is looking for an Energy Analyst that will support a large e-commerce, cloud computing, and digital streaming company to achieve their aggressive energy and sustainability goals. The position will support client's World-Wide Real Estate Engineering group that envisions building design and development in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection domains. With a strong commitment to the Climate Pledge, the Energy Analyst would be responsible to quantify and visualize the impact of client's programs by means of Energy Savings, Cost Savings and Carbon Reporting. The candidate will also get an opportunity to be creative in building dashboards using visualization tools to maximize our offerings and unparalleled support to the client. This exciting role will expose the candidate to many challenges and opportunities that exist in cutting edge corporate energy and sustainability world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must possess ability to handle large data in an organized fashion to assess quality and meaning
Support reporting the data through a database and data visualization platform like Tableau / Power BI
Must be able to analyze utility bills to evaluate energy loads, tariffs, demand calculations
Understanding of MEP Drawings, Energy Loads, energy and cost saving opportunities
Basic financial calculations including paybacks, savings forecasting, cost benefit analysis
Collaborate with program stakeholders in a consultative manner to tailor program requirements as needed
Present analysis findings and evaluate results to internal / external stakeholders
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
Supervisory Responsibilities
The focus of this position will be supporting World Wide Real Estate Engineering's North America team but the program will have a global outlook as a whole. No formal supervisory responsibilities are required for this position.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Basic knowledge & working of Mechanical, Electrical systems including energy saving strategies and their cost implications
Familiarity with Carbon Accounting and GHG emissions preferred
Must possess the ability to assess complex programs at a high level and distill the program value
Strong quantitative skillset, including expertise with Excel, Word and Data Analytic tools
Experience reporting results in a data visualization program such as Tableau or Power BI
Project management experience including team work, communication and collaboration
High comfort in meeting and holding calls with the stakeholders and ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
Energetic and passionate about the energy and sustainability field
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year College or university required. Minimum two years of related experience and/or training in the Data Science / Data Analysis domain preferred.
Certificates and/or Licenses
CMVP and / or CEM or inclination towards getting the certification preferred
Communication Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely reliable and courteous service to clients. Ability to effectively present information. Coordination with multiple teams and projects is essential.
Financial Knowledge
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and qualitative skills.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to write reports, manuals in a pre-designed style and format.
Scope of Responsibility
Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgement may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Energy Analyst position is $63,000 annually [or $30.28 per hour] and the maximum salary for the position is $70,000 annually [or $33.65 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
