    POSITION DETAILS

    New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering 58 associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Diversity/Title IX Specialist. The Diversity/Title IX Specialist reports directly to the Chief Diversity Officer.

    Under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Diversity Officer/Title IX Coordinator, the Diversity/Title IX Specialist will be responsible for:

    • Managing/organizing diversity recruitment AAP files, including digitizing records, running reports in CUNYfirst, tracking employment searches, and regularly preparing updated log sheets.

    • Assisting with the AAP approval processes and the annual AAP reports.

    • Supporting the Chief Diversity Officer/Title IX Coordinator in the management of the Title IX Compliance Program, including monitoring and maintaining data related to the status and outcome of complaints and investigations, and assisting in the preparation of periodic and annual compliance reports and audit responses.

    • May be delegated to handle the investigation and resolution of discrimination complaints, including Title IX.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required, preferably in a field such as law, student conduct, student life, or human resources.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • J.D. or advanced degree in a related field preferred.

    • Willingness to work collaboratively as a team player with diverse groups and campus partners, such as Human Resources, Student Affairs, and Public Safety.

    • Ability to perform in a time-sensitive environment and work independently.

    • Prior experience working in a university setting with an understanding of the academic recruitment, tenure, and promotion processes strongly preferred.

    • Proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, and collaborative communication platforms such as Teams and Zoom, is essential.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Develops and administers employment compliance and diversity initiatives.

    • Assists in implementing Affirmative Action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), and diversity policies by ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local statutes such as Executive Order 11246, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the American with Disabilities Act

    • Prepares data and creates reports on Affirmative Action Plans, recruiting activities and outcomes, and employee demographics, identifying trends and issues

    • Helps prepare and deliver innovative communications and training programs on diversity, compliance with employment law, implementation of the Affirmative Action Plan, and other topics as needed

    • Administers selected recruiting and search procedures

    • Assists in developing and implementing diversity awareness programs.

    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    $75,465 - $99,532. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
