Data Audit

Description We are looking for a meticulous Auditing Clerk to join our team in the automotive industry, located in Detroit, Michigan. This role will involve maintaining and reconciling financial records, processing accounts payable, and standardizing work procedures. This is a short term contract position that offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in the field of accounts payable processing and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with multiple departments to approve supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices

• Handle supplier interactions regarding invoice and payment discrepancies

• Input supplier invoices into the ERP system

• Charge expenses to accounts, cost centers, and departments by analyzing invoices

• Record journal entries for accruals and allocations of expenses

• Maintain and reconcile accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

• Disburse cash payments using all payment methods to suppliers

• Monitor supplier invoices for discount opportunities

• Maintain current supplier records including federal ID, payment terms and conditions, bank account information, and W-9 forms

• Prepare tax filings, including annual issuance of 1099s to suppliers

• Generate reports using current financial package and Excel

• Analyze, review, and advise management regarding processes and activities

• Assist in creating a policy and procedure manual for the accounts payable function, which will also include documented work instructions for critical process functions. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Auditing Clerk role or similar position within the Automotive industry.

• Proven experience with Account Analysis and Account Reconciliation.

• Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field would be advantageous.

• Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

• Strong understanding of regulatory standards and compliance within the Automotive industry.

• Proven experience in preparing audit findings and recommendations.

• Ability to travel as needed for audits or industry events.
