    What you will do

    As the Customs Master Data (Export Control Classification) Senior, you will be key in aligning with the business strategy for trade compliance. Export classification is the enabler for securing compliant trade of goods with military characteristics or with goods subject to the Export Administration Regulation. These will be some selected responsibilities:

    • Act as the main speaking partner for classification of any product development including military adaptation of vehicles in US legal entities.

    • Responsible for regulatory monitoring of Export Administration Regulations and DDTC Regulations and impact analysis on Volvo Group ECCN and ITAR classifications.

    • Active in global development of knowledgebase for Export Control Classification in our community of dual-use classification.

    • Drive export/import impact analysis in case of new or updated sanctions as it relates to export classifications.

    • Drive classification investigations for sensitive products or technology.

    • Data analytic tools experience and statistical analysis preferred.

    • Set the priorities for our classification operations by analytics and forecasts for US exports

    Who are you?

To be successful in this position you have a bachelor's degree in engineering, International Trade, or equivalent experience. Prior experience with Export Administration Regulations, DDTC and Commodity Jurisdiction experience preferred. Certified Export Specialist certification is preferred. Your leadership skills, networking capabilities, and learning mindset will be an essential asset for the position.

    The role requires digital and analytics competence where you are comfortable in processing large amounts of data and drive action plans based on conclusion made from data analytics.

    Furthermore, the candidate will act as the liaison for our business areas. Interacting with head of legal counsel; head of sales; and head of engineer. Also work with special projects, where you will be exposed to ITAR technology, US EAR 600-series technology or governmental projects. Therefore, the candidate must be a US citizen and cannot have multiple citizenships due to technology export requirements.

    This role is located in Greensboro, NC and requires frequent travel to Shippensburg, PA and other global locations as required.
