    For Robert Half's client, you could become a Controller with a reputable Real Estate Construction & Development company. If you have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff.     How you will make an impact

    • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

    • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

    • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

    • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

    • Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

    • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

    • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

    • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

    • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

    • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

    • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

    Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

    • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

    • CPA or MBA preferred

    • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

    • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

    • Construction Accounting experience

    • Construction Drawings experience

    • Real estate project accounting experience highly valued

    • Month end closings experience

    • Earlier work involving residential real estate

    • Adeptness in Month-end Close Activities

    • Cash forecasting experience highly preferred

    • Practical knowledge of Create Dashboards

    • Foundational knowledge in Direct Supervision

    • Construction Accounting experience

    • Comprehension of Microsoft Excel

    • Previous experience working with Real estate financing

    • Background working with commercial real estate

    • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting

    • Good understanding of Real Estate Accounting

    • General familiarity with Reporting Dashboards

    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

    • Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

    • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

    • Self-starter and strong ethical standards
